Branching Story

upon closer inspection you find that the branch is made up from hundreds of tiny symbols. individually, some seem familiar. yet, when looked at from further away, all of them create something oh so much greater than the sum of their parts. you imagine the branch with all its tiny structure as part of a massive tree. the characters seamlessly flow from branch to tree, static, dancing. flickering in patters beyond comprehension. you imagine following one particularily graceful strand with your eyes on its journey across the branch, then along the surface of the tree. winding, zigzaging in all directions. it seems to move with purpose, driven by some peculiar force towards its goal. an energy from inside guiding its way. or is it coming from the outside? try as you might, you cannot seem to understand its intention, you imagine. eventually you lose the string out of sight, and lose yourself in the endless chaos that makes up this tree. even though you cannot comprehend why it is the way it is, or how works the way it does — or why it works at all, for that matter — you can appreciate it. the little bits of code that run through the tree, they are beautiful. the tree is beautiful. you can't really grasp why, you imagine. you think of the tree amongst other trees. a forest. and everything is connected under the surface of the earth, hidden out of sight. yet you feel the connectedness. you can almost feel the vibrations through your feet. you can almost hear the crackling of electricity in the air, you imagine.
